Victor Tsao

Vice President and General Manager

Victor Tsao is the Founder, Vice President and General Manager of Linksys, a division of Cisco Systems Inc.  Prior he was the President and CEO of the Linksys Group, Inc., in Irvine, California which was acquired by Cisco in June of 2003.  Linksys is a leader in the development of broadband, wireless and networking hardware solutions for the home, Small Office/Home Office (SOHO), and Small Business markets. Linksys has been the lead manufacturer of networking hardware in the retail channel for 7 years – currently owning more than 40% of the market.  Through this position, Linksys has become the fastest growing networking hardware manufacturer in the retail and distribution channel and has also become the lead seller of networking hardware online through E-tailers.

Prior to joining Linksys, Tsao served as the Director of MIS Strategic Systems Development, for Taco Bell Corp from 1985 to 1991.  Tsao played a key role in the implementation of in-restaurant automation and networking daily operation results back to the headquarters.   He was there at the time when PepsiCo transition Taco Bell into a mainstream Fast Food marketer.  Tsao also served as Supervisor of technical Services for Santa Fe International Corp., a Senior Systems Programmer for TRW Inc, senior software Engineer for Kraft, Inc. and a Database Administrator for Montgomery Ward & Co.  Tsao has dedicated more than 30 years in the computer and IT industry.

Victor has an MBA, MS and BS in computer science from Pepperdine University, Illinois Institute of Technology, and Tamkang University, respectively.  He was also named as the Entrepreneur of the Year 2004 by Inc. Magazine and Orange County Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernest Young in 1999. Victor was also the recipient of a BridgeGate 20 award as one of the Top Industry Leaders in Southern California in October of 2002.  The company was also announced as the 2002 most successful private company by the American Electronics Association.   Linksys has also been named as an Inc. 500 fastest growing company in America 7-years straight to become one of 61 companies to make the Inc. 500 Hall of Fame as well as a 6-time peat to the Deloitte & Touche Fast 500 list of the fastest growing public and private companies in North America.
