CelebrAsian 2004
I
would like to thank the US Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce for the
terrific opportunity to travel to Irvine, California and experience first-hand
the process of interacting and forming relationships among businesses and
Asian-American corporate leaders. As an aspiring businessman, observing the
CelebrAsian 2004 conference helped me gain experience and knowledge about the
corporate world. Though much of the conference was obviously targeted towards
its corporate participants rather than the scholarship recipients, I still
benefited from the presentations and suppliers fair by discovering the types of
events and dealings that I will be involved with in the future. As I learned
from the repeated emphasis on “connections” during the conference, building
contacts and relationships are vital in the business world.
I would like to commend USPAACC not only on initiating opportunities for businesses, but specifically Asian- Americans involved in business. Asian-Americans have long been underrepresented in American businesses (particularly among Fortune 500 companies), and it is refreshing to see an organization that is making an effort to promote the involvement of Asian-Americans.
From a scholarship recipient’s point
of view, I was honored to be among such distinguished professionals during the
16th Annual Excellence Awards and Scholarships Dinner. The elite
company I was in further encourages me to stay determined throughout college and
beyond.
Perhaps the best part of my
experience in Irvine, CA was my interactions with the other scholarship
recipients. I met other amazing, talented students who shared common interests
with me. I only wish that there had been a greater opportunity to develop
friendships than two days in a hotel.
I am glad that USPAACC is making an impact, both financially and inspirationally, on my future. Thank you USPAACC and associated sponsors!
