The US Pan Asian American Chamber of
Commerce (USPAACC) is accepting
applications for the Lee + Papa and Associate scholarship for travel . This
Schlorship
is to encourage the student to travel back to the land of his/her birth or heritage during summer break and share the experience with the greater USPAACC community. The product of the will be documented in words and photos to illustrate the experience. The scholarship is valued up to
$5,000.
The Award
recipients will be announced during our
23rd Annual CelebrAsian
Business Opportunity Conference
’08,
on May, 2008 in Washington, DC, during Asian Pacific
American Heritage Month. The Annual
Conference recognizes the
contributions Asian Americans have made
toward education, business, the arts,
entertainment, sports, science, public
and community services.
* Asian American means Asian and Pacific
Islander Americans

Criteria
The applicant should be:

Of
Asian Pacific Island heritage
-
A
citizen of the
United States
-
Be an undergraduate or graduate student at an
accredited post-secondary
educational institution in the
United States in
Fall
2008

Able to
attend the 23rd
Annual CelebrAsian
Business Opportunity Conference 08 on
May

2008 in
Washington, DC
The Applicant Should Demonstrate:

Academic achievement of 3.3
GPA
or
higher
-
Leadership in extracurricular
activities
-
Involvement in community service
-
Financial need
Application Instructions:
The
applicant should furnish the following:

complete and attach
a 2 x 2 crisp headshot photo (scanned
pictures will not be accepted;
staple the upper right hand corner
of the photo in the photo area of
the application)

Additional attachment (if necessary)
describing extracurricular
activities, academic honors, and
community service activities
(maximum, 2 pages)

A 100
word biography
-
An
essay of 500 words on I
Need This Scholarship,
typed, double-spaced and signed by
the applicant and his/her academic guidance
counselor on the upper right hand
corner

Transcripts from undergrad
or post-grad school capturing the past two years of
coursework
-
A copy
of most the recent household tax return
signed by taxpayer(s)

Two
letters of recommendation from those
listed as references in the
application: (1) one from high
school, and (1) one from a community
service organization
(recommendations must be in sealed
envelopes)

Send the requested information only;
do not send additional materials

Punch
3-holes on the left-side of all
pages (for filing in Scholarship Committee
binder), except the sealed reference
letters

The
application and materials must
be send together in one complete
package. Please pay attention to

denial of the application for

Opportunity Conference in

where the scholarship Award will
be presented
USPAACC reserves the right to verify the
accuracy of the information contained in
the submitted application package.
Application and all supporting materials
will be kept confidential; application
materials will not be returned.
Scholarship funds will be paid directly
to the college of recipients’ choice and
will be used for college tuition only,
not for
any related or associated cost.
Application and supporting materials
